NWJS Jamaica Appeals - exploring different possibilities
Schools in North Wales are being invited to find ways to raise funds for the schools and communities in Clarendon, Jamaica, where we have been working to 'Build Bridges of Friendship' working with the schools. Recently the Regional Director of Education in Clarendon was in North Wales, taking part in a Welsh Government's Taith funded project.

21 11 25 update
Over the past few weeks the NWJS has worked with others organisations in Wales and partners in Jamaica that we can work with.
Our links with Clarendon's Regional Director of Education, Barrington Richardson, gives schools and others in Wales undertaking fundraising activities to support efforts to get students back to school to receive the appropriate support needed after the Nationwide Disaster

NB This hurricane level was raised to a Category 5 - capable of destroying well built structures.

HURRICANE MELISSA DISASTER RELIEF
Dear Fellow Jamaicans and Friends of Jamaica
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has launched the Support Jamaica website: https://supportjamaica.gov.jm ; a dedicated online platform developed by the Government of Jamaica to mobilise assistance, coordinate relief and streamline recovery efforts post Hurricane Melissa.
This centralised platform offers a suite of essential services, including:
- A straightforward “Donate Now” option so that citizens, Diaspora partners, private sector and other organisations can contribute to rebuilding lives and restoring hope;
- An interactive shelter-locator for those in need
- A transparent, efficient and effective platform to track and receive resources.
For all those interested in donating, we encourage you only use the site that ends in the domain gov.jm and avoid any scams. The site has been developed and donated by the Amber Group in consultation with our GoJ team has been thoroughly security tested to ensure your protection
