North Wales Black History Month
From 2010 the North Wales Jamaica Society worked with Learning Links International to support the showcasing of Black History Month in North Wales, providing co-ordination and links.
From 2010 the NWJS was active in developing and managing Black History Month in North Wales and each year from 2010 - 2016 Liz Millman, one of the founders of the North Wales Jamaica Society and Director of Learning Links International, was active in co-ordinating a programme of activities for Black History Month in NW Wales, with support from other members of the NWJS and Jamaican Poet and Reggae Artiste, Yasus Afari.
The Launch in 2010 was hosted at the University of Bangor with special guest Yasus Afari, by the African Caribbean Society and Learning Links International.
Bangor University's African Caribbean Society hosted the first BHM launch in North Wales in 2010 with special guest, Jamaican Dub Poet, Yasus Afari, and friends from North Wales.
